Third Generation (jan 20, 1964 – dec 28, 1971)
Description:
The third generation lasted from 1964 to 1971 and in that generation, computers were known as Integrated Circuits.
• The invention of integrated circuit was a paved way for the new generation of computers, transistors in this time were miniaturized and put onto things known as silicon chips which played a big hand increasing the speed of computer machines. (Silicon is a common substance that is found in the development of computer chips)
• This was the first ever recorded time where people (users) were able to input information or interact with computers using keyboards and machines. Computers in this time were now more widely accessible by the common public as they were easier to move around and cheaper to have
