The Bubonic Plague (jan 1, 1347 – jan 1, 1700)

Description:

The bacterium Yersinia pestis causes bubonic plague, which is an infectious disease. Flea bites transmit the germs that dwell in the intestines of fleas to rats. The disease's natural reservoir is rats, and fleas are the disease's vectors. When a blood meal was taken, an infected flea would leap to a human and introduce the infection.
