however they still kept close tabs on internationals events which resulted in the general consensus:
ussr was an aggressive and expansionist force and its world revolutionary agenda threatened western civilization
however this view persisted even though stalin had shifted the ussr to focus on internal developments via his "socialism in one country policy"
there was a slight counter
ussr was a counter to the growth of nazi germany
soviet participation was vital in european politics
