Description:

It was a period of relative calm, but not one of idleness. The experiences learned during WWII's worldwide battle pushed the United States to push the boundaries of what was technologically and organizationally possible, including the separation of the Air Force into its own military branch. The United States became a leading superpower as a result of this process.
