Curiosity Rover (12 h, aug 6, 2012 y – 6h 28min, jun 18, 2025 y)

Description:

Nasa Mars Rover
Landing Site: Gale Crater
The curiosity rover was sent to explore mars by nasa in 2012. It operates still today as it continues to climb higher up Mount Sharp, it was the first rover to use plutonium as its energy source, this plutonium was placed on the back of the rover. The rovers wheels have taken quite a beating since the rover landed, there are now many holes in the wheels from the jagged rocks it was driving over, the curiosity mission team have now decided to take a much more cautious and slow approach to driving, and have updated its software to avoid jagged terrain. NASA made sure not to repeat this mistake with the wheels on its next rover, perserverance.
