Zika Fever (feb 20, 2016 – dec 31, 2017)
Description:
The Zika Virus first appeared in Brazil and eventually spread to parts of North and South America and some part of Southeast Asia. It's caused by the Zika virus and is spread mainly by mosquitos but can be transmitted through sexual contact. The virus is especially lethal to pregnant women as it can cause neurological problems with infants and cause defects to occur. It causes a rash to appear, bloodshot eyes, a fever, joint pain, and headaches. While the exact number of deaths is not currently known, over 70,000 people are infected among these are infants born with birth defects and neurological problems only heighten the likely hood of them being unable to leave normal lives and/or dying early.
