The Plague of Justinian (jan 13, 527 – oct 24, 750)

Description:

The plague arrived in Constantinople. "The plague (Yersinia pestis) was carried to the Great Lakes region of Africa via overland and sea trade routes. The point of origin for Justinian’s plague was Egypt." The plague moved by rout of a black rat. The king had ordered all the dead bodies to be thrown into the sea and off of the streets. "Procopius, in his Secret History, describes victims as suffering from delusions, nightmares, fevers and swellings in the groin, armpits, and behind their ears." The plague killed more than or upwards of 50 million people or basically half the entire population of the continent.
