Delhi Sultanate (jan 1, 1206 – jan 1, 1555)
Description:
Established as the Mamluk dynasty, but made up of 5 successive dynasties with their capitals in Delhi. (Khaljis, the Tughluqs, the Sayyids, and the Lodis)
Initially religiously tolerant, but was later pressured by Muslim establishment to force Islam onto others. This led to loss of allegiance of Hindu vassals. It also led to a more unified unified Hinduism, which eventually led to a Hindu state (Vijayanagar)
