2010 to 2013- NSW legislates to allow same-sex couples to adopt. The Gillard Labor government allows transgender people to mark their gender as 'x' on passports and gives the ability to choose gender without medical intervention in 2011. Tasmania legislates to allow same-sex couples to adopt in 2013. Transgender children no longer require family court approval to access hormone blockers. (jan 8, 2010 – jan 8, 2013)
