The Vietnam War (jan 1, 1955 – apr 10, 1975)

Description:

Again, the Vietnam War was fought because the U.S. wanted to contain communism (among other things). North Vietnam wanted to unite all of Vietnam under a communist regime, and South Vietnam didn't want that. Neither did the U.S., so they fought alongside the South, and China aided the North. In 1975, the South fell to a full-on invasion from the North. An estimated 400k people died, both civilians and soldiers.
