World War Two was fought between the Allies- Britain, France, the U.S. and the Soviet Union- and the Axis Powers- Germany, Italy and Japan. It started in 1939 when Germany invaded Poland. Germany had already been pushing things by invading other countries, but when they invaded Poland, the war officially started. It lasted for 6 years, and as many as 45 million people died, including some 6 million Jews who were ruthlessly sent to death camps and murdered during the Holocaust. During WWII, Germany invaded and occupied 20 countries.Added to timeline:
