Description:
The first world war was caused by militarism, alliances, imperialism, and nationalism. The war officially began after the assassination of the Archduke Franz Ferdinand. The Allies fought the Central Powers and won. As a result of the outcome, Germany had to pay war reparations when Woodrow Wilson's Fourteen Points failed. After the war, the Dawes Plan was created to help pay war debt, but it was unsuccessful. Also, Europe experienced division after the war.
