Cambodia Genocide (apr 17, 1975 – jan 7, 1979)
Description:
The Cambodian Genocide started on April 17th, 1975 in Democratic Kampuchea. The genocide was run by the Khmer Rouge to kill the Cambodians. They also were killing minority groups like Thai, Chinese, Vietnamese and Muslim, Buddhists, and Christian groups. The Khmer Rouge sent all the ethnic and religious groups to the rural areas and forced labor, disease, executions, torture, and malnutrition. They killed 2.2 million people, and the Khmer Rouge was taken out of power in 1979 by Vietnam.
