South African Apartheid (jan 1, 1948 – jan 1, 1994)
Description:
Apartheid was a policy that divided the whites and colored people (segregation). It started after the Nationalists Party won in 1948 in South and Southwest Africa. White and black people were separated from work places, had to live in certain areas, go to different schools, and many other places. They even had signs that said white people only around areas too. People eventually became sick of this policy and started peacefully protesting, but higher power leaders weren't listening so the protesting became violent. It eventually ended in a series of negotiations during 1990-1993.
