Montgomery Bus Boycott (dec 5, 1955 – dec 20, 1956)
Description:
The Montgomery Bus Boycott started at the end of 1955 and finished more than one year later, totaling 381 days. It started when Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat and got arrested. After that, African Americans refused to use city buses to protest against segregated seats. The Boycott was extremely important for the Civil Rights fight and at the end of it, segregation in buses became unconstitutional.
