Berlin Wall (aug 13, 1961 – nov 9, 1989)
Description:
The German Democratic Republic of East Germany constructed the Berlin wall to keep the West Germany from entering. This was driving the US, France and Britain similar to the Berlin Blockade. The wall was active until November 9th, 1989 when the East Germany party allowed its citizens to cross the border.
This was a significant piece of history to represent the cold war. The walls intention was to drive the capitalists in West Berlin away from East Germany. The demolition of the wall marked a glorious victory for everyone. Millions came to the wall and cherished this reunification.
