Key aspects of a mosque (nov 15, 960 – 21h 41min, feb 6, 1040 y)
Description:
Minbar – a pulpit for the Imam to stand on
The imam is the male who stands in the very front of the prayer room to lead the prayer for everyone.
Mihrab – a small alcove marking the direction of Mecca. This shows where to place the prayer mat to know which way faces the kaaba' to perform daily prayers to the all mighty.
Ablution Fountain – a place to wash before prayer. It's simply a formality, to purify and be clean before connecting with their god. They call it 'wudhu' where they cleanse themselves in a specific order starting with their faces. Head to toe.
