Jim Crow Laws (jan 1, 1896 – jan 1, 1965)

Description:

Jim Crow Laws were sets of laws that said that states could segregate people based on race, but they had to follow, “separate but equal".

This is important because it caused segregation and people were still not equal, even though they were supposed to be. This did not help the progress of reconstruction in any way.
