Black Death (jan 1, 1347 – jan 1, 1351)
Description:
The black death wast a very long period of time but it left a big impact. With so much death occurring, the fear of hell became massive, and the thought of heaven rarer. Realism became popular again and most art would depict death triumphing over its prey.
The black death left a lasting effect on art and influenced the most popular artistic representation of death, The Dance of Death.
In the dance of death paintings, victims were danced to hell, often tugged or dragged.
