Renaissance period (jan 1, 1400 – jan 1, 1550)
Description:
The Renaissance has been considered a "rebirth" of sorts of art. More techniques were used like perspective and light, as well as more emotion, not to mention the first oil paintings which were then made the standard. The most famous example of renaissance art is of course the mona lisa, which many believe is meant to represent happiness and the beauty of nature.Most portraits in this period were of important people but it was the first time ever that regular people could get their portraits done if they had the money.
