The Lowry War occurred in North Carolina. Led by Henry Berry Lowry (also spelled Henry Berry Lowrie), whose father and brother were murdered by the Confederate Home Guard, a band of American Indian, White and African-American men waged a guerrilla war against the Confederates between 1864 to 1872.
