Second Sino Japanese War (jul 7, 1937 – sep 9, 1945)
Description:
China divided into four regimes
The Nationalists (in Chongqing)
The Communists
The Manchukuo
the Nanjing Puppet Regime
- although the Japanese had taken over the richest parts of China
- The nationalist strategy was trade space for time, retreating and using the mountains as a defense
- Because they had no aerial support
- this meant that the majority of the Japanese forces were stuck in China
- This would become a problem when the Pacific front began
