The Freedman Bureau (mar 3, 1865 – jul 1, 1872)
Description:
The Freedman Bureau was when former slaves were given help and necessities like land, food, medical supplies, ect.
This was important because people were acknowledging that former slaves needed help because they had nothing. People helped them and this was one of the first parts of reconstruction and it helped people tremendously.
