Description:
Was a Democrat. Marks new more liberal Democratic Party. Helped end Great Depression and managed WW2.FDR needed a wheelchair because he got polio as a child, which paralyzed his legs. Tried to hide his disability by avoiding walking or standing in front of others. He would stand for speeches by leaning on others or a podium. He would often speak from his car. Wanted to avoid the prejudice against disabled people.
