Civil War (apr 1, 1861 – apr 9, 1865)

Description:

The North and the South began a civil war premised on keeping the Union together after South Carolina threatened to secede. However, the war turned into a war over slavery. Eventually, the Confederacy lost, but a lot of pro-slavery officials remained in a position of power. Slavery is abolished, but there is still a long road of civil justice ahead.
