William Howard Taft and Dollar Diplomacy (jan 1, 1909 – jan 1, 1913)

Description:

William Howard Taft implemented his policy of dollar diplomacy which stated that US trade would be promoted by promoting American enterprises in foreign nations. In order to see if this policy was a success, he went to China and he talked to American bankers and tried to get their support to invest in the buildings of railroads in China, which succeeded. He also dealt with Nicaragua in which the US dealt with their financial affairs in order to secure their investments.
