In response to attempted European intervention in the Dominican Republic, Roosevelt wrote an extension to the Monroe Doctrine stating that in the event that a Latin-American nation was having financial problems that they and they alone would intervene and aid in their economic struggles, further isolating the US and the Western Hemisphere.Added to timeline:
