Description:
One of the first shifts for African Americans gaining equal opportunities economically and socially became migration out of the South. The South post-civil war still had individuals who would discriminate based on race and therefore leaving the South African Americans had more opportunities to join the diverse America instead of segregated.Added to timeline:
