Rise and fall of Gabriel Chastaigne (jan 1, 1423 – aug 28, 1460)

Description:

Gabriel opens his father's letter and lockbox at 21. He vanishes from 1423-1425. Upon returning, he purchased Chateau des Portes back from various intermediaries, having come into a fortune. By 1426 he is named a lord by royal pronouncement and described as an "artificer". The pronouncement, however, has his last named slightly changed to "Castaigne".

In 1435 there are reports that Chateau des Portes has been filled with clockwork marvels.

Hygromanteia is published under the name "solomon" in 1441 and spreads across Europe. It is rumored that Gabriel published this book under the "Solomon" pseudonym.

Gabriel throws a fantastical masquerade party, showcasing the clockwork wonders in his Chateau. Giant mechanical marionettes dance on wires descending from intricate tracks on the ceiling. It is rumored that Gabriel has cracked his father's secret for perpetual motion.

Gabriel Castaigne vanishes in 1460. He left behind his empty mansion, a jumble of notes, and a demonic symbol to "Purson" left burned into the floor of the main hall.
