Second Great Awakening (aug 6, 1801 – jan 1, 1850)
Description:
A series of religious revivals starting in 1801. Stressed a religious philosophy of salvation through good deeds and tolerance for all Protestant sects. Rejection of predestination and other older doctrine. Very individualist. Included more women and POC than previously. Started at the Cane Ridge Revival in 1801.
