Berlin Blockade/Berlin Airlift (jun 24, 1948 – may 12, 1949)
Description:
After the Berlin wall’s establishment, the Soviet Union cut off supply chains leading to Berlin, attempting to deprive the city of resources. Britain and the US used airlifts to drop off supplies. There was an internal decision within the US, deciding whether or not to have a hostile response to the Soviets. This was a moment of “heat” during the war.
