Formation of the Eastern Bloc (may 14, 1955 – jan 1, 0)
Description:
Stalin wanted to spread communism around Eastern Europe, he invaded countries then annexed them into the eastern bloc, creating a large buffer state with the Soviet Union in control of all of them. The Warsaw pact was the legal document that made the Eastern Bloc happen, leaders from Albania, Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia, East Germany, Hungary, Poland, and Romania (Albania withdrew in 1968). It ended in July 1991 because the countries inside of the pact did not need to rely on the Soviet union.
