Cuban Missle Crisis (oct 16, 1962 – oct 28, 1962)

Description:

The 13-day confrontation between the US and Soviet Union, the Cuban Missile Crisis was the discovery of Soviet nuclear missiles in Cuba, almost starting a nuclear war between the two global superpowers. Khrushchev had begun exporting as well as beginning the construction of nuclear weapons in Cuba, later being captured by US spy planes and being confronted by the US. President Kennedy and Soviet Premier Khrushchev would come to an agreement where the US would prevent further invasions in Cuba and the Soviets would return their nuclear weapons to the Soviet Union. The withdraw was seen by Castro as powerless in which he was infuriated by.
The Cuban Missile Crisis was important to the war as it gave way for a possible nuclear war between the US and the Soviet Union, which would ultimately be dismissed, and begin the downfall of Khrushchev's fall from power up until 1964.
