Description:

Part of the progressive movement was not only protection for human rights but also the environment. Lead by Roosevelt the nation began to take precautions and observe nature. Roosevelt using his power in office made use of the forest reserved act and preserved 150,000,000 acres a federal land aside preventing private properties from being built. As a part of his conservation efforts he also created the new lands reclamation act setting aside money to those you give up property for protection of land and public lands. In addition, he set up an awareness conference in the White House to inform governors that conservation uh federal lands and state land will now be a main concern.
