American politics and the country is news became spread across each state through stories in magazines and newspapers. The industry of such news grew to become not just honest but tell the tales of scandalous stories of political figures and companies. The writers that told these stories were known as Muckrakers. The short news articles became so popular in households that the authors started to write books and even novels based on their popular telling of political scandals. The era of Muckraker's was short lived though as they began to decline when corporations and leaders began to protect their names.Added to timeline:
