The North: Industrial Northeast (jan 1, 1824 – jan 1, 1848)
Description:
The Northeast and Old Northeast were in the northern section of this country during the early 19th century. New England and the Middle Atlantic states consisted of the Northeast while the Old Northwest began at Ohio and ended around Minnesota. These parts of the country were all connected by transportation routes such as roads or canals and thanks to the industrial revolution and farming the economy thrived. Most people who lived in the North were involved mainly in agriculture which made the North and extremely popular place to live in the United States. Factories in the North also contributed to the economy by manufacturing a variety of goods.
