Zheng He (jan 1, 1405 – jan 1, 1433)

Description:

Zheng He was a eunuch admiral who led a series of seven massive maritime expeditions that was sponsored by the Ming emperor Yongle. Zheng he traveled from Java to Malindi, suppressed pirates in southeast Asian waters, intervened in local conflicts in Sumatra and Ceylon, frightened local authorities with their prowess, and made Chinese presence known throughout the Indian Ocean Basin.
