The Declaration of Independence was the start of the American Revolution. As the fighting was happening the British forced were on a decline but the British saw a way in which they could shift the momentum. What was intended to be an attack on the Americans backfired on them. This being a turning point in the war, shifting it in the favor of the Americans.Added to timeline:
