Japanese Interment (jan 1, 1907 – jan 1, 1945)

Description:

Japanese and other asian citizens living along the West Coast were placed in interment camps for the duration of WWII because Americans feared they were secretly spying on them for the Japanese. This was seen as necessary at that time, but the significance of this event was promoting nativism towards the Japanese and Germans. The Germans were not interned partly because of their race, so this event showed America justifying their actions based on race.
