King Phillip's War (jun 20, 1675 – apr 12, 1676)

Description:

Christian native John Sassamon tries to warn the citizens of MA about an upcoming attack from the Wampanoag chief Metacom (aka Phillip). Sassamon turned up murdered, and the MA court tried and hanged 3 Wampanoags for it. This pissed off Metacom, who attacked. Won victories at first, but lost ground after Metacom was killed in 1676. War pretty much ended there, but some skirmishes continued.
