Sound innovation for WWII (player piano) (jan 1, 1940 – jan 1, 1945)
Description:
There is a need for secure radio trasmission because of the war effort. Hedy Lamarr and a sound innovator combine efforts to create a player piano which can play by itself. The technology is then applied to missiles so that missile transmissions can't be intercepted. This innovation is dismissed by the military however.
