Jonathan Edwards (oct 5, 1703 – mar 22, 1758)
Description:
Jonathan Edwards was a North Hampton Anglican minister. He was known as one of the chief fathers of the 1st Great Awakening. He spread messages emphasizing the idea that humans are sinners, and people needed to beg for forgiveness. Unlike other ministers he preached only around his home town, and is credited for inspiring many conversions. His works contain a documentation of those conversions, "Narratives of Surprising Conversions", and his sermon "Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God" in 1741.
