Description:

Began in the summer of 1918 where Lenin wanted to control the country with an objective to improve its economy and the economic problems brought by the civil war in Russia.

a. The nationalization of industry
- Began shortly after the revolution and was extended by the law of June 28, 1918.
- Private industries almost entirely began disappearing because the state took businesses like mining and cement industries.

b.Compulsory labour was introduced

c.Private trade was gradually suppressed
- replaced with rationing and government distribution of food and other necessities.
- February 19, 1918: nationalization of land was proclaimed.
