Zoot Suit Riots (jun 3, 1943 – jun 8, 1943)
Description:
The pachucos were a gang filled with Mexican American teenagers and the grange wore zoot suits which whites found outrageous. In June of 1943 white sailors beat and tore and burned the pachuchos and their clothes. While this happened the police didn't intervene but once the pachuchos fought back the police intervened and arrested them. This ended in the creation of a law which prohibited zoot suits.
