Korean War (jun 25, 1950 – jun 27, 1953)

Description:

War between Communist North Korea and pro-Western South Korea. Both nations were backed by the two superpowers, with North Korea turning towards the Soviets and Stalin, and South Korea turning towards the U.S. and Truman. China also played a significant role in aiding North Korea and helped defend against U.N. troops (who were aiding S.K.) and pushed the war to a stalemate result. Though no one won, with the help of the U.S., S.K. was able to push back the invasion of N.K. and prevent the spread of communism.
