Korean War (jun 25, 1950 – jul 27, 1953)
Description:
The Korean War was fought as part of the Cold War effort to contain Communism. Called the "Forgotten War", the Korean War was a police action, and not a war officially declared by Congress. It was also one of the first armed conflicts of the Cold War. The Korean War affected America subtly, as it was the beginning of problems like undeclared conflicts and unwinnable wars that would define the Cold War Era. It was very similar to the later Vietnam War, as they were both fought to stop the spread of Communism, and neither war was a resounding victory for the US.
