Normandy Campaign (jun 6, 1944 – jul 24, 1944)
Description:
Operation OVERLORD, the plan between Great Britain, the US, and Russia, required invasion through France at six separate beaches, and although entry through several of them and defending themselves through established and well-known countryside proved itself more than difficult, Allied forces eventually reached ground suitable to deploy their breakout offensive tactics. Significant figures form this event include General Dwight D. Eisenhower, who would later go on to be President of the US, and Air Chief Marshal Sir Arthur Teddy.
