Lend Lease (dec 17, 1940 – sep 2, 1945)
Description:
Roosevelt, acting President for the United States, signed several policies into effects which worked to the advantage of the Allies, namely selling munitions, gifted ships to various Allied nations, and the actual Lend-Lease law which allowed for the borrowing of equipment, as well as the United States' first peacetime Selective Service Act. Significant figures from this event include Franklin D. Roosevelt, US president, and Sam Rayburn, US Speaker of the House of Representatives in 1940, the year of the passage of many of the involved policies.
