Irish Land War (feb 1, 1879 – feb 1, 1879)
Description:
The Irish Land War was a period of agrarian unrest led by the National Land League which aimed to secure fair rent, free sale, and fixity of tenure for tenant farmers. Ultimately aimed for redistribution of land from absentee landlords to the farmers who worked it.
Resulted in government passing several Land Acts to satiate the demand of activists.
