Description:
The Emancipation Proclamation was put to order by Abraham Lincoln after keeping control of the court from the recent victory of Antietam. the courts favor helped enforce emancipation proclamation as a military measure to free slaves in 10 states. This order applied to slaves in states in rebellion during the time. But because of the order being a military measure it didn't apply to border slave states like Delaware, Maryland, Kentucky and Missouri, which all pledged their loyalty to the union. The Emancipation Proclamation helped confirmed their cause and justice for the war was to sought for peace and freedom, that the war was to free people of the slavery holding them by their necks. It strengthened the Union both militarily and politically because it gave a moral for the union and its followers to pledge by.
